It has already left us but you can order one and have it in six weeks.

Rahim was able to sit still long enough for an over-the-shoulder glance from the newest choob/Willow combo. We have new choob colors to choose from like: magenta, teal, black, and curulean. They are all made to order and take about three weeks to make.

Popping up in Oakland

While we were visiting Oakland, we made a stop at Lola who carries our rugs from time to time. Lola has an incredible selection of beautiful objects including the lamp above which I’m madly in love with. Check out their website here for a taste but it’s worth making a trip just to go there. Next door to Lola is a fantastic place to have lunch called Summer Kitchen and Bake Shop which features some classics like fried chicken and cobblers.

Poppyshop pop-up shop

Next weekend, from June 4-6 we will be partnering with several local designers and artists in a pop-up shop curated by Tina Barseghian featuring a mix of vintage and handmade finds, new and mid-century furniture, art and home accessories. Tina is a former editor for both ReadyMade and Craft Magazine. The Poppyshop will be her debut as a retailer. Check out the artists links at poppyshop.com. Choob filling du jour

These colorful scraps aren’t just an inspiring filler, they come from eight years of doll making. A friend of a friend makes life-sized dolls which I will be sharing as soon as I get the pictures. In the meantime, I’m enjoying the remnants. Update. I just heard from the artist, Magdalena Jarkowiec. Here is her youtube video. I think one of the dolls needs to be sitting on a choob.

Dodd finally let me take home a new rug for the dining room. It’s the Littlebox in gray with clay and peach. It really makes a huge difference. You can’t tell from the pictures but there is a deck that runs the length of the room with potted red geraniums. They look so pretty with the new addition of the big patch of peach under the table.

I got an email from this wonderful artist in Iran, Morteza Zahedi. He illustrates children’s books, makes boxes, and paints. The image above is from one of his books. I also really love his website, mortezahedi.com which features some gorgeous ceramic pieces. The image below is another children’s book illustration.

I finished the grid painting finally. I’m not sure I love it yet; but I don’t hate it which spells success in my book.

Here is my new sofa with the painting. I’m ecstatic about the sofa. I’m not sure it comes across in the picture. But, the color is sublime!
